Less hay fever with an air purifier

Less hay fever with an air purifier

Spring and summer are the favourite times of year for many. The sun shines more often, there are lambs in the meadow and everything is in bloom. Wonderful, but for hay fever sufferers, spring and summer often come with many health problems. An air purifier can provide relief in these times.

Cold or hay fever?

Did you know that as many as one in five people suffer from hay fever? Moreover, this number increases by two to five per cent every year. Many people do not realise that they suffer from this pollen allergy. This is because the symptoms are very similar to those of a severe, long-lasting cold. Sneezing, stuffy or runny nose, watery eyes and fatigue are the most common symptoms.

Substances foreign to the body

Hay fever is caused by pollen flying around in the air. These pollens originate from trees, grasses or plants. They are also called pollen grains. They enter the body through the airways. Normally, the immune system clears away foreign and potentially dangerous substances. In people with hay fever, the immune system is confused: their immune system regards harmless pollen as dangerous, leading to an inflammatory reaction.

From birch to grass

The period in which hay fever sufferers are most affected is synchronous with the flowering time of the trees, grasses and plants that spread the pollen. At the beginning of spring, for example, there is a lot of birch pollen in the air. Grass pollen, on the other hand, causes the most nuisance around the end of May and the beginning of June. The weather also influences the amount of pollen in the air. On hot summer days, trees, grasses and plants produce the most pollen. If there is a lot of wind, this pollen is spread even more. Then it's bad luck for hay fever sufferers.

Reducing complaints

A general practitioner can prescribe anti-allergy pills. These are available at the pharmacy. However, these pills provide only temporary relief. The best remedy is to avoid pollen as much as possible, for example by going outside as little as possible. In the spring, of course, this is not desirable. An air cleaner offers the solution.

Ioniser

An air purifier cleans the air indoors of pollen and pollen that cause your hay fever. AmazingAir also has an ioniser. This means that the air particles are not only purified, but also electrically charged. The purified air particles combine with the impure air particles, which become heavier as a result and are deposited in the vicinity of the air cleaner. An air cleaner with an ionizer thus removes more impurities from the air than a normal air cleaner.

About AmazingAir

But AmazingAir goes beyond filtering pollen from the air. The filter can capture particles as small as 0.0003 microns. These include mould, bacteria and viruses. Curious about the possibilities? Contact the specialists of AmazingAir for more information!
